All of us at Konbiniya share the concern about the possible radioactive contamination of Japanese products (especially from northwest part of Japan). We would like to keep our customers informed on the safety status of imported food products from Japan.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has already placed a ban on certain products from Japan. Fortunately, Konbiniya does NOT stock any of the affected items. Please see the following link for items affected.
http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/corpaffr/newcom/2011/20110323e.shtml
Konbiniya is taking the following steps to insure that all our products are safe.
1. All products currently in stock were imported before the disaster occurred.
2. All our products are bought from local LICENSED importers who are consistently checked by the CFIA. New items will come from stock presently in our suppliers' warehouses for the foreseeable future.
3. Konbiniya is in touch with the CFIA. We expect that some items may not be available in the near future as the CFIA monitors the situation and radiation levels in Japan. We also expect delays as imports from Japan are checked by the CFIA and the Canadian Border Agency.
4. We will keep our store and website updated with information on actions taken on potentially contaminated items. For example; we will let you know when a certain item is no longer available due to radiation concerns.
We thank you for your continued support in this most difficult time. Ganbare Japan!
Your click motivates me up to next posting, thank you.
